OnlyFans suspended payments to content creators from Russia

Content subscription service OnlyFans has suspended the accounts of creators from Russia. The company said it could not make payments due to economic restrictions in the region.

Vice reporters were able to get a comment from a representative of OnlyFans. The company said that for several months the team has been looking for options to continue providing services to content creators. None of the options were acceptable and compliant with security requirements. As a result, it was decided to temporarily freeze accounts due to inability to pay authors. Authors from Russia were asked to contact the service’s support to resolve all issues.
OnlyFans is well-known for its large community of adult content makers and fans. Some models, such as Corinna Kopf, can earn up to $1 million per month. Even after Corinna Kopf OnlyFans leaks, she continues to earn a fortune.

At the end of February 2022 OnlyFans already froze accounts of Russian content creators. At that time users complained that when they tried to withdraw funds the service showed a message that it was impossible to perform the operation in that region. By early March, the company had solved the problem and restored the activity of the accounts. Representatives of OnlyFans also stressed that they did not freeze accounts because of the location of the creators, and all restrictions were related exclusively to the banking sector.
