Travis Scott gave over 2,000 presents to kids in Houston after the Astroworld tragedy. The 30-year-old is giving the gifts as he and Kylie Jenner stay out of the public eye. TMZ reported on Thursday that Travis and his Cactus Jack Foundation gifted toys to more than 2,000 kids in Houston that come from struggling families. A source told the outlet that the presents will be distributed across six Houston Housing Authority complexes throughout the city, with the presents arriving before Christmas Day. The Cactus Jack Foundation’s Instagram account also shared photos promoting a toy drive. Alongside a sign for the toy drive, the foundation also shared photos of tables full of fun gifts for the kids. The post’s caption read: “Cactus Jack Foundation Second Annual Toy Drive is open now. 1 toy per child, first come first serve.” The toy drive took place weeks after 10 people died and hundreds were injured during Travis’ set at the Astroworld festival. see also According to Texas officials, the crowd began to “compress towards the front of the stage” at around 9:15 p.m., sparking panic. A “mass casualty incident” was declared minutes later at 9:38pm. It also emerged that Travis played for more than 30 minutes after the mass casualty announcement. One day after the tragedy took place in November, Travis took to social media to apologize. In a statement uploaded to Twitter, he said: “I’m absolutely devastated by what took place last night. “My prayers go out to the families and all those impacted by what happened at Astroworld Festival. “Houston PD has my total support as they continue to look into the tragic loss of life. I am committed to working together with the Houston community to heal and support the families in need. “Thank you to Houston PD, Fire Department, and NRG Park for their immediate response and support. Love you all.” An emotional Travis then took to Instagram, as he said he was “devastated” over what had transpired.
